Mousekin's Golden House
by Edna Miller
Copyright 1964; third printing. Simon and Schuster Books for Young Readers.
Ex-library, hardcover book with dustjacket. Original cover is in very good condition with a bit of wear to the corners. Dustjacket is very good within a mylar cover which has been taped to the book at the flaps. There is a small taped tear to the upper right of the jacket. Typical library stamps and markings, card pocket remains on first endpage. Pages are clean and in very good condition.
"How Mousekin makes a discarded jack-o'-lantern his home, startles his friends and scares his enemies is a lyrical and gentle fantasy laced with nature facts on the habits and life cycle of a whitefoot mouse in the woods. ... Mousekin finds the pumpkin right after Hallowe'en just when the chill winds of winter send him searching for a warm winter home. A phoebe trills that Mousekin should join those journeying to warmer lands; a chipmunk fears the wind and snow will chill Mousekin. But when the snow begins to blanket the woodland, Mousekin is snug in his golden house."
Unpaginated. This is the nicest ex-library copy that we have seen of this charming story.
